Right to breathe

To the editor:

Former Sen. Edmund Muskie, principal author of the Clean Air Act, once stated, “The law has a basic premise: that every American has the right to breathe clean air.” That is what the smoking ordinance is all about: The 80 percent of Kansans who don’t smoke clearly have a right to breathe clean air. This inherent right will be upheld by Lawrence voters in March.
