Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects and events may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

County Road 1023 from North 1900 Road to U.S. Highway 40, closed for bridge replacement.

East 800 Road from County Road 438 to North 1750 Road, closed for bridge replacement over Interstate 70.

K-92 bridge over Missouri River, traffic reduced to one lane controlled by signals from noon Fridays to 5 a.m. Mondays for bridge repair.

Kansas Highway 32 at Stranger Creek, bridge reduced to one lane for widening.

U.S. Interstate 435 from 98th Street to the Wyandotte-Johnson county line, traffic reduced to one lane except during rush hours. Lane closures may periodically extend north to the Kansas-Missouri state line.

I-70 from the 18th Street Expressway to the Turner Diagonal and Interstate Highway 635 from Parallel Parkway to Metropolitan Avenue, traffic reduced to two lanes each direction and exits closed for construction. Detours posted.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers, noon today, Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.

U.S. Highway 69 from I-35 and 91st Street, southbound traffic reduced to one lane for ramp reconstruction. Ramp from 87th Street to southbound U.S. 69 closed, and lane widths restricted to 11 feet.

The following projects may affect city traffic this week:

U.S. Highway 40 (Sixth Street) from Kansas Highway 10 to Folks Road, traffic carried through construction as U.S. 40 is widened to four lanes.

Trail Road from Roundabout Circle to Jane Court and Folks Road north of Trail Road, occasional lane closures for sewer line installation.

Kansas University men’s basketball vs. Nevada, 8 p.m. Monday; vs. Pacific, 2 p.m. Saturday, Allen Fieldhouse, KU campus.

14th Street at Jayhawk Boulevard, closed for steam tunnel installation.

13th Street at Oregon Street and the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Street, closed for stormwater improvements. Detours posted.
