Other terrorism

To the editor:

In an editorial titled “Butchery,” the writer says, “It is worth repeating that while not all or even a majority of Muslims are terrorists, those who commit acts of terrorism without fail claim a Muslim heritage.” (Journal-World, Nov. 19). This is not true.

A large group of Christian terrorists called the Ku Klux Klan murdered innocents for more than 100 years after the Civil War in the South. One of their last crimes was the bombing of a Birmingham church in 1963. Members, or sympathizers, still occasionally are found responsible for the death of a black or burning a cross, a Christian symbol, to frighten a black family.

“Pro-life” Christians have bombed clinics, and a few have murdered physicians and other clinic workers.

Timothy McVeigh, a Christian terrorist, murdered many innocents in bombing the Oklahoma federal building.

Basque terrorists act in Spain, and Irish Protestant and Roman Catholic terrorists act in Great Britain. Both Hindu and Muslim terrorists act in India, Kashmir and Pakistan. Buddhist terrorists murder minorities in Burma. Some years back, a Jewish rabbi entered a mosque in Israel and murdered those at prayer. Jewish holy sites are vandalized in France and Argentina.

Although it was a Muslim cleric who brought a truce to Najaf, the ancient blood cult has never died anywhere.
