To the editor:
After following the election and the evolution of the Democratic Party, I have changed my party affiliation. As a lifelong Democratic, I am embarrassed that my party would embrace a bloated buffoon like Michael Moore, follow his lead in the promotion of hate and dishonesty, encourage the ranting of Al Gore and Ted Kennedy, then criticize George Bush's "failure" to unite the country.
Much of the Democratic Party leadership seems hateful and bitter. I am not optimistic that these leaders will join President Bush in his efforts to lead the country. If the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, then I fear we will see more of the same. I will not join them.
