To the editor:
I just had to write something about Mr. Ortiz walking out on the school board meeting the other night (J-W, Nov. 9). I'm outright surprised it hasn't happened before. The way things look to me, Sue Morgan has a "mightier-than-thou" attitude, like nothing can possibly go smoothly without her two cents. Her opinions and ideas carry no more weight than anyone else on the board. In fact, I feel sorry for Mr. Ortiz, I think he did the only thing he could do, walking out. The people of Lawrence elected him to try to take the Lawrence school district in a good direction. I don't recall voting Sue Morgan as Ms. Queen of the board. I know if things don't get worked out before long, things like this will likely continue to occur.
