The week: West won the individual state championship Saturday at Olathe East, leading the Lions to the team title. West won the all-around with a score of 37.825 after finishing first in the beam (9.5), first in the floor exercise (9.625), third in the vault (9.4) and third in the bars (9.3). West’s all-around championship and the Lions’ team title were both firsts for Lawrence High at the state meet.
