To the editor:

I noticed in the business section of the paper that the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce plans to bring Steve Doocy of “Fox and Friends” to Lawrence for an awards dinner. Fox News is not news, nor are they anyone’s friend. The policies of Fox News are an insult and disgrace to what America stands for. To think this is the moral/business standard that the Chamber of Commerce is promoting frightens me for the future of Lawrence.

Perhaps the Chamber might consider choosing a speaker from among the many ethical newspeople that have left the station because they refused to bend their morals rather than one who has chosen to stay. I, for one, will boycott any sponsor (including the Chamber of Commerce) that supports bringing such a biased and immoral forum to our city.
