Law enforcement report
Lawrence Police said Monday that over they weekend they'd handled:
- 89 reports
- nine burglaries
- 10 thefts
- 15 noninjury accidents
- two injury accidents
- 49 noise calls
- A man and a woman were arrested Saturday night when Eudora Police and the Douglas County Drug Task Force shut down a suspected methamphetamine lab.
Officers acted on a tip and went to a duplex in an undisclosed area of Eudora, Police Chief Greg Dahlem said in releasing information about the case Monday. The suspects, a 44-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, were taken into custody.
Substances thought to be methamphetamine were confiscated and will undergo lab testing before formal charges are filed, Dahlem said.
Three children in the residence were placed in the custody of the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Dahlem said.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- A Lawrence woman told Lawrence Police on Sunday that someone had taken her 1999 Ford Escort. The car, valued at $4,000, had been parked in the 1300 block of Massachusetts Street.
