Brazen theft

To the editor:

To the young man who stole the Kansas University flag from the corner of Ninth and Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon and then shouted profanity at me when I questioned him:

I am almost impressed by the self-confidence you must have that allowed you to steal that lovely flag in broad daylight in front of so many afternoon shoppers. That boldness, if redirected to activities that are legal and ethical, could serve you well in the future. I’m sorry that your parents didn’t teach you not to take things that don’t belong to you. Enjoy your flag; the rest of us will not be able to anymore.

Moms and dads of Lawrence, if your son came home with a KU flag on Saturday, you might want to ask him where he got it.

Kerri Holtzman,

Lawrence
