Credit due
To the editor:
Every article concerning the Kansas University Alumni Association since May, when referring to Fred Williams, includes the word “fired.” I have always found your reporting to be fair and balanced and containing true facts; however, I feel in this instance you have not held true to your past.
Why has there never been any recognition of all of Fred’s outstanding contributions to the association? His efforts increased memberships, brought in new programs that were attractive to all members, and in many instances produced revenue for the association that helped make it what is today, an association of which everyone is so proud.
I truly believe that good should be reported with the bad and Fred Williams accomplished so much for the Alumni Association that it is not fair to not give him this credit. Also, how many in the profession today owe their start, training and assistance in moving up the ladder to Fred, who is one of the most respected professionals in the field? Thanks, Fred, for 21 years of dedicated service to the association we know you loved.
