Too little, too late

To the editor:

The Journal-World in its May 6 editorial praises President Bush for his “strong response” to the prisoner abuse scandal in Iraq.

There is little to praise in the president’s handling of this scandal or of the Iraq war in general.

Here is a president so out of touch with this major aspect of the conflict in Iraq that he only hears about the prisoner abuse — and the investigations and reports that resulted — months later on television.

President Bush’s desperate attempt at damage control is much too little, much too late.
