Law enforcement report

  • Police took a 13-year-old boy into custody Monday on suspicion of aggravated battery after another teen claimed the boy shot him in the chest and back with a BB gun. The incident happened between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of West 20th Street Terrace. The alleged victim wasn't seriously injured.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 51-year-old woman reported her 24-foot Starcraft trailer taken between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday from the 2900 block of Harvard Road. She valued the trailer at $6,000.
  • Someone caused $1,500 in damage to a van belonging to the Villages Inc. It happened at 6 p.m. Friday at Centennial Park, 2400 W. Ninth St., police reported Wednesday.

Emergency calls

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported Wednesday an equipment failure was preventing it from releasing its emergency calls.
