Old and boring?

To the editor:

To the adolescent who so eloquently expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to vote for the design on the Kansas quarter by saying, “I would have been angry if they just chose a quarter without asking anyone. It would have been chosen by old, boring people,” I offer that someday, my dear, you, too, will be “old” and “boring.” I only hope that when that day comes, the wisdom you will have gained by virtue of your age and life experience is valued by the society in which you live.
