Pledge concern

To the editor:

One nation, under God.

So what’s wrong with stating “under God” if the majority of us believe it’s right in the Pledge of Allegiance? Don’t we have the freedom of speech to say this? The atheists who object can just be quiet during those words. Why make a federal case out of it? To use up our precious tax dollars in court?

Because of separation of church and state, this is objected to, but why? God is not a church. He is not a religion. So why are the atheists complaining? Nobody’s forcing religion down their throats.

Why should the majority make concessions for the minority? Whether the atheists like it or not, we’re a nation based on Christian principles of love, caring and God’s protection. Columbine High is a good example of no Christian principles. Keep pushing in the wrong direction and it will occur again, often.
