Law enforcement report
A Eudora woman told Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies she saw a man illegally shoot a wild turkey from within a truck. The incident happened about 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 section of North 800 Road, according to a report. Police made contact with the suspect and will forward a report to the District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
Injury accidents
- A pedestrian received treatment Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after being struck by a car while crossing West 27th Terrace. Audrey M. Manny, 49, Lawrence, was walking north across the street about 7:38 a.m. Monday when an eastbound Ford Taurus driven by Vanessa A. Metzger, 42, Lawrence, struck her, according to a report.
Burglaries and thefts reported
- A black vinyl top from a Jeep belonging to a 50-year-old Overland Park man disappeared between 2 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. from the 1300 block of Kentucky Street, according to a report. The top was valued at $2,000.
- Several items were taken from a car between Thursday and Saturday, a 41-year-old Lawrence man told police. The car had been parked in the 2200 block of West 29th Terrace. Among the items taken were binoculars and a rangefinder. Total losses were listed at $2,225.
