Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Three vehicles licensed to the U.S. government and parked at the Army and Navy recruiting centers, 2233 La., were vandalized overnight Thursday, according to a Lawrence Police report. Plastic eggs containing an unidentified substance were thrown onto a 2003 Dodge Caravan and two 2003 Dodge Intrepids, causing damage to windshields and paint. Total damage was listed at $1,500.
  • A 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo belonging to a 21-year-old Tonganoxie woman was vandalized Thursday night while parked in the 900 block of North 23rd Street. Someone smashed the windows and cracked the windshield. There were several dents in the body of the car. Total damage was listed at $3,000. A wallet in the car also was taken.
  • The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a digital camera valued at $2,700. It was taken early Friday from a residence in the 1100 section of North 1700 Road. A 25-year-old man reported the camera missing.
