Lawrence Police have identified the 2-year-old boy critically injured by a car shortly before noon as Logan Prothro of Bennington. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee that struck Logan near 13th and Kentucky Streets has been identified as Jennifer Holland, 23, Lawrence.

Logan was with his grandmother and had gotten out of a car parked on Kentucky Street before being struck by Holland’s northbound vehicle, police said. The accident occurred about 11:45 a.m., police said.

Police continue to reconstruct the accident and investigate the details. Logan was flown by air ambulance to a Kansas-City area hospital.

The section of the one-way, northbound street where the boy was injured was closed for about two hours to the public as officers investigated the accident.
