Lawrence police are investigating the stabbing of a 22-year-old Lawrence man early this morning outside Bubba’s bar, 2228 Iowa St.

The man told police an unidentified woman stabbed him in the shoulder with a sharp object about 1:30 a.m. after he left the bar, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a police spokesman. The victim told police he doesn’t know why the woman stabbed him. He received treatment at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The stabbing was the second crime reported outside the bar this week. In a hit-and-run accident early Monday, an unidentified driver fled the scene after striking a 32-year-old Lawrence man who was later treated for lacerations at LMH. Police have not yet identified the driver.
