Survey ranks state’s courts in top 10

Kansas ranks ninth in the nation in the fairness of its court system to businesses, according to a survey commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The report was released Monday.

The chamber’s Institute for Legal Reform surveyed 1,402 corporate lawyers to come up with the state rankings. Kansas moved up six spots from its ranking of 15th in the 2003 survey.

Among Kansas’ neighboring states, Nebraska ranked second, and Missouri was ranked 41st.
