Religion or law?

To the editor:

I think the people in the state and the country need to realize that marriage between two people is a choice between those two people. We try to separate religion and state by taking prayer out of school. Now we try to shove religion in on marriage. It wasn’t too many years ago when people were up in arms with interracial marriages. Now it’s common.

Two people have the right to choose their mate. It’s all about being happy. With the number of divorces we have between “legal” or “straight” marriages, maybe it’s time for a change. We are confusing religion with law. One doesn’t make the other. Laws are changed when it becomes obvious the law is outdated.
