Salary overkill
To the editor:
Lawrence City Manager Mike Wildgen, $117,616, plus two assistant managers, David Corliss, $94,000, and Debbie Van Saun, $94,000. That figures out to be $305,616.
I may be a real penny-pinching taxpayer and to me this is overkill. Three big salaries to three different people apparently qualified to do the same job.
Please explain to me how you people can justify this situation when my taxes and appraised value on our little home have gone up for the last ?? years — in fact, ever since you hired another high-salaried figurehead!! I’m talking about the appraiser.
Is there no end to this extravagance?
