Magazine ranks Lawrence 10th in quality of life

The Lawrence area has the 10th best quality of life in the country according to a business magazine that ranked all 331 of the nation’s metropolitan areas.

Expansion Management Magazine, a publication that targets businesses that are looking to expand into new communities, announced the results of the study today.

The quality of schools, the workforce and relatively affordable housing helped push Lawrence to the No. 10 ranking, said Bill King, the magazine’s chief editor.

Last year the community was ranked 49th in the study.
