Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone took 400 compact discs, a $1,685 television and compact-disc player, and other equipment from a 1999 Cadillac Escalade. The forced-entry theft happened between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Vail Way. The items belonged to a 22-year-old Kansas University student. In all, there was $9,150 in damaged and missing property.
  • An unknown suspect caused $3,000 in damage to the windshield and body of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Murphy Drive.
  • A Cannondale bicycle, $90 in coins, a vacuum cleaner and a set of Craftsman tools were among the items taken between 5 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday from a residence in the 400 block of Minnesota Street. The items belonged to a 33-year-old Kansas University student.
