Christian life

To the editor:

In regard to a letter published Wednesday, July 14:

Please Curtis D. Bennett, don’t stereotype “Christianity.”

I believe there would be “no world” without God (Genesis 1:1). There would be no redemption, salvation, no life without Jesus (Romans 4:13-25).

Jesus was sent to save all God’s children from hell. One has only to ask, believe and live in that faith. Many claim to be “Christians.” True Christians live by Jesus’ example; promoting love, peace, charity. War is not peace, terrorism is not love, slaughter is not charity. Not all “Christians” support Bush.

Choices are often made in the “name of God” but are really man following his “own will.” God says, “love your neighbors as yourself” (Galations 5:1-15).

For myself, I shall continue to grow in Jesus “exalting him and God, my heavenly Father” (Psalm 57). As for our nation and the world, we must each ask ourselves: “Where is our treasure?” (Matthew 6:19-24).
