Pool issues

To the editor:

Dysentery and other dubious details.

As a pool patron at Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center, I’m often saying “yipes!” in the (men’s) shower room.

  • There is a stall with disturbing stains on the wall.
  • There are numerous laminated “Wash Your Hands” signs, and often no soap in the soap dispensers by the sinks!
  • The “shower before swimming” notification is posted at one place and is low on the set of instructions on a water-damaged piece of paper.
  • Only one of the four showers seems to be working right.
  • There is no soap in the showers (empty brackets have no soap dispenser).

If those who bear ultimate responsibility for a quality pool experience actually visited the place regularly, would they not pay attention to such critical quality-of-life issues?
