Dip still there

To the editor:

To begin, let me say that I moved away from Kansas in 1969 to live and retire in another state. We were celebrating the Fourth of July outside the city. Do you know that bump in the road in front of Johnny’s Tavern as you cross the bridge? Well it is still there! And even at the speed limit it is formidable. What has the city been doing all this time? It was a real head-cruncher for me, and I was glad I was not in a small car but in a 2004 Ford 350. I would be interested to know how many accidents can be attributed to the “jump.”

Anyway, I just wanted to pass on a little information to the people of the historical society. May I say thank you for the restoration of the train depot, but I wonder if this included preserving the streets as they were also?
