Healthy energy

To the editor:

A headline in the July 4 Journal-World, “Lawrence brewery joins wind energy movement,” should remind Kansans how fortunate we are to lead this country into a much healthier place to live. Many residents do not have the financial ability to buy their own windmill; however, they could take other steps to promote the wind energy program.

One such step could be to tell our candidates running for public office how they could get our vote this fall. I am reading a book titled “The End of Oil” by Paul Roberts, and perhaps that title should be changed to “The End of Bush Oil.” This country could be a more healthy nation if we could switch from oil to wind energy. It is essential that our government leaders recognize the inherent value of renewable energy. It’s more healthy to breathe clean air than the tailpipe exhausts from our cars.
