Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 51-year-old Lawrence man reported Wednesday that someone had not paid for $1,800 worth of engine parts and labor at Consider It Done, 1404 E. 24th St., according to a report. The theft occurred between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. June 10.
  • A 23-year-old KU student reported Wednesday that someone had broken into his vehicle, parked in the 1600 block of Louisiana Street, between 10 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday. Taken were $2,590 worth of items from the vehicle, including a $750 Movado watch, a $250 I-Pod portable music player and miscellaneous clothing, according to the report.
  • A 53-year-old Lawrence man reported Tuesday that a friend had unlawfully used his credit card to purchase three airline tickets. Fees, including travel service charges, totaled $1,221.80, according to the report.
  • A 21-year-old Lawrence man reported Monday that someone had taken his 1970 Chevrolet 4X4 pick-up truck, valued at $2,500, from the 900 block of North Second Street. The theft occurred between 2 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Monday.
  • A 24-year-old Lawrence woman reported Monday that a friend had taken a diamond engagement ring from her in the 1600 block of West 22nd Terrace. The ring, taken between 4 p.m. June 20 and 8 a.m. June 28, was valued at $1,500.
  • A 19-year-old Kansas University student reported that someone had damaged her 1998 Toyota Corolla between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. June 25 while it was parked in the 2100 block of Heatherwood Drive. Damages totaled $1,000.
  • A 21-year-old Lawrence woman reported her 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier had been broken into between 7 p.m. June 14 and 2:15 p.m. June 23 in the 4500 block of Overland Drive. Damaged and missing items, including a number of compact discs, totaled $1,180.
