- The Lawrence school district has after-school programs where students of all ages can focus on reading, math and other subjects. Volunteers may read with a student, assist with math and other homework, or work on other special projects. Most programs run from building dismissal time until 5:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. For more information call Susan Butterfield at 832-5008, ext. 657.

Nursery care volunteers are also needed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call Kathy Mulinazzi at 841-3645.
- Interfaith Caring Neighbors is looking for people to volunteer one to two hours a week to assist elderly people who are living independently.
