Ike’s granddaughter to speak at GOP event

Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of Kansas native and former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, will help celebrate Kansas history and political heritage, by speaking at Kansas Day later ths month.

Kansas Day will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Kansas GOP and the Kansas Territory.

Eisenhower, who is a director of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Nuclear Threat Initiative, will be the keynote speaker at the Jan. 31 Kansas Day banquet. Eisenhower is also serving her third term on the National Academy of Sciences Standing Committee on International Security and Arms Control.
