Ballard to speak at King event in Capitol
Topeka ? State Rep. Barbara Ballard, a Lawrence Democrat, will be the featured speaker Thursday during a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration in the Capitol.
The celebration will start at 11 a.m. with a symbolic march from the Judicial Center to the Statehouse.
Ballard will speak to the group after it congregates in the Capitol rotunda.
The official King holiday is Monday.
