Unexpected exit

To the editor:

Is there anyone out there who is as disillusioned and angry as I am to learn by reading the notice in the Journal-World on Jan. 30 that Medicine Shoppe was closing its doors on Jan. 30 and would no longer be doing business? The owner said he had moved to Phoenix, therefore, was closing the doors as of that date. The odd thing about this is he had gone to Phoenix a year or two ago.

I had a prescription totaling over $100 filled with Medicine Shoppe just three days before the ad appeared. It was delivered and there was not one mention of their closing. The owner said in the ad our prescriptions had been transferred to Dillon’s. I guess they must have been the only one who had advance notice of Medicine Shoppe’s closing.

Talk about a low blow that, after using that pharmacy since the early 1980s, I was not given notice that they were forever closing their doors and not given the choice of choosing my own pharmacy. It is so unbelievable that a business could treat its customers in such a cold manner. Yes, I am angry.
