Wrong lesson

To the editor:

In response to Jerry Whistler’s letter published Jan. 31, I agree with him when he says, “When is the doublespeak of weak-minded apologists going to end and common sense, once a strong American trait, prevail? Individuals are responsible for their actions!” What do you say we renew the strong American trait of common sense by holding our commander in chief responsible for his decision to wage war on Iraq, resulting in the deaths of more than 500 Americans and 10,000 Iraqi civilians, all at an incomprehensible monetary burden to posterity?

I remember back to the Clinton days when everyone was worried about the moral lessons Clinton’s improprieties were teaching our children. What lessons are our children learning from this president? And at what cost?
