Janssen said Sunday’s high temperature was 34, which helped to keep streets from icing up.

“It actually hasn’t been half bad this afternoon. But it’s going to get worse,” Janssen said.

Sleet was falling in the early evening and had changed to mostly snow by 7 p.m., he said.

“We’ll have heavy snow from about 10 p.m. tonight to about 9 a.m. tomorrow. There will be some blowing and drifting tomorrow.”

Overnight, the temperature will drop down to about 28.

Temperatures will continue to fall on Monday, with northwest winds 12-24 mph. The winds will create windchill effects down into the teens. The high Monday will be about 24.
