Free enterprise

To the editor:

I would like to respond to Mr. Rezayazdi’s letter of Jan. 28. According to the governor’s office, the van pool is not self-sufficient. But according to you, it is.

If you truly feel that carpooling is the way to go, and I agree that this is a good idea, I have an idea for you, sir. You say your van carries 12 passengers. If you go and buy a van and have every rider pay you $5 more a week on top of what everyone pays, that’s $55 a week more for your 11 riders. This would make you $220 a month to help pay for the extra time you invest in driving the van. This is called free enterprise.

Something to think about. Good luck and happy carpooling.
