Bush performance

To the editor:

It seems that our “great leader” has been better coached before stepping in front of a podium and speaking during the Q&A parts of press conferences. He claims that he is wise enough now to know better than to argue with himself in front of reporters (as per the press conference on Dec. 20). Very good, Mr. Bush. But then you make the mistake of continuing to speak anyway, rambling on, spouting segmented policy phrases and making lame jokes at which the audience before you nervously laughs, hoping to keep their spots in the “yes-man” crowd.

And how kind of you to point out how some of the “new faces” among the reporters were “purtier than others.” Way to be a progressive man of the new millennium! Keep making the half of the voting population who rehired you happy; meanwhile, those of us who know better will continue to wickedly delight in your verbal blunders.

Tresa Cope,
