Sunny, but cold today

If you’re headed out to take final exams this morning, grab a coat on your way out the door.

“Outside, we’re sitting at 28,” Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist, said shortly before 8 a.m. Schack said winds were southwesterly this morning at 3 mph, creating a wind chill of 24 degrees.

Temperatures will be headed up into the mid 40s for today, reaching a high of 45 by mid afternoon, with west to northwesterly winds 8 to 12 mph, Schack said. Skies will be mostly sunny, she said.

Overnight, skies will continue to be mostly clear, dropping to 22 by Friday morning, she said.

Friday’s weather will be much like today, with mostly sunny skies a high of 45, she said. Saturday’s morning low will be 26, with the high Saturday reaching 42 under partly cloudy skies.

“It’s Saturday night that the cold air arrives,” Schack said. An arctic front will arrive by Sunday morning, pushing Sunday’s morning low to 14, she said.
