Put emotion aside

To the editor:

It was disturbing to read Jere McElhaney’s comments regarding our Planning Commission in Tuesday’s Journal-World. I approve of the Planning Commission and appreciate its dedication and hard work. Members volunteer to spend long hours at times, working together on common-sense planning recommendations. It is a shame that we have an elected official making such negative remarks about a group of fine public servants.

Emotions at times cloud our vision and choice of words. Let’s ask Jere McElhaney to put his emotions aside, mend some fences and make sound governmental decisions for the good of Douglas County residents.
