Society support

To the editor:

The Clinton Lake Historical Society would like to publicly thank the Kansas Humanities Council for its generosity. A recent award of $3,500 will be used by the museum to translate its present paper catalog to machine-readable form.

The immediate result will be enhanced access to its treasure trove of historical photos, family and local histories and many artifacts. In the future, the museum hopes to be able to link its collection records with those of other local history museums in the area. The goal is to make it possible for a visitor to any of those museums to easily find pertinent resources in any of the others.

It is because of the foresight and focus of the Kansas Humanities Council that we are able to take step one in our long-range plans to enhance access to our small, but rich, collection. This support will make rapid progress possible, and for that we express our sincere gratitude.
