Late tidings
To the editor:
Well it is about time they announced this (J-W, Thursday).
My son Pfc. Darrell Hunsaker is with the 1st Cavalry, Company B and the soldiers were actually told of their second extension on Thanksgiving Day — the day they were to give thanks for their blessings.
As my son put it, the Army could have waited until the next day rather than ruin the holiday, but the Army does not put the morale of its troops in high regard.
He called me from Iraq for the whole holiday weekend asking if it had been announced on the news yet.
