To the editor:

The city commissioners need to get their heads out of the sand if they think the smoking ban doesn’t hurt the bar business!

I’ve visited with Rick Renfro, owner of Johnny’s, about how bad his business is doing. Renfro is one of the most honest people I know and when he says the ban is hurting his business you can take that to the bank. Johnny’s is a landmark and we cannot lose it!

You used to have to wait for a table at the Yacht Club. No more; you can take your pick of tables. People are out on the patio. There are heat lamps on the patio but what happens when it is zero degrees?

By the way, those bartenders whose health you worry about? The majority of them smoke.

One last comment: Sue Hack is in and everyone else should be replaced.
