Another cool day expected

Sunny skies and unusually cool August temperatures will probably bring more people outside today.

“It would be a great day to go out for a walk or a run,” Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist said this morning, as temperatures were in the mid 60s.

“It kind of reminds me of a song, ” Schack said, breaking out into the old Beatles’ tune, ‘Good Day, Sunshine.”

Today’s temperatures were expected to be 78 at noon with the high reaching 83 by late afternoon, she said. Skies will be mostly sunny, with southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

“Keep your windows open. We’ll see that overnight low drop down to 59 degrees,” Schack said.

Saturday will be a bit warmer, with the high reaching 87, with southerly winds 5 to 15 mph and a few clouds. By Saturday night, an isolated storm is possible as a cold front begins to move through, she said.

Sunday’s morning low will be 67 degrees, with the high climbing to 89. There’s a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday night and early Monday morning, she said.
