A few facts

To the editor:

For several months, I have quietly endured letters to the editor from members of the Bush Bashers of Douglas County, most recently that of Mr. Brizendine’s letter of July 17 referring to the “delusions or illusions” of Bush supporters. I feel this one warrants a response.

This appears to be an effort to direct those of us in the “opposite aisle” how to cast our vote Nov. 2. My decision on who should lead this country for the next four years will be based on fact. To mention two: Known dedication and quality leadership. Compare that to the previous eight of doing zilch, nada, that’s doodly squat, by the “C” Gang. They cut (and JK supported) intelligence-gathering capabilities to what has now been determined a contributing factor to 9-11. (9-11 Commission Report.)

In my opinion, flip-flopping on many issues of national importance since day one of his political career (fact); having his portrait displayed along with that of Ho Chi Minh’s, in Hanoi’s “Protester Hall of Fame” (Yup, it’s there); even voting that would jeopardize our service men’s and women’s safety and well-being in combat (fact); all of which would not appear to demonstrate leadership traits for a U.S. president during a known and continuing World Wide War on Terror.

So to Mr. B’s letter of expanding to “Bush Supporter Bashing,” I suggest he might better direct his political rhetoric to getting the facts to voters on his “side of the aisle,” so they too might vote more wisely on Nov. 2.
