Congressman to visit Lawrence Friday

U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore, a Democrat whose congressional district includes the eastern half of Lawrence, will attend a series of events in Lawrence on Friday, including a visit to Lawrence High School and a public forum.

Moore will be a guest on Hank Booth’s radio show on KLWN AM 1320 at 8:30 Friday morning from the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence, 701 Mass. St.

The 3rd District congressman will then speak to an LHS government class.

Moore will speak at 10:45 a.m. to the Kansas Postal Workers Union state convention at the Springhill Suites, Riverfront Plaza in Lawrence.

The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon with Moore from 11:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hereford House, 4931 W. Sixth St.

Moore final Lawrence appearance is a public forum for seniors about the new Medicare laws. The forum begins at 1:30 p.m. at Babcock Place, 1700 Mass. St. Moore will speak about how his proposal can lower prescription drug prices. Joining Moore will be Joe Tilghman of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Janet Ikenberry, from Senior Health Insurance Counseling.
