Out of Iraq

To the editor:

Bring our troops home from Iraq. We are getting our people killed over there every day. For what? The Iraqi people do not want us in their country. Most of them even hate us. We were told we invaded Iraq to find and destroy the WMDs that Saddam had. Where are the WMDs? Did Saddam destroy them; or are they buried somewhere we will never find them; or did he sell them to another country when he knew we would be invading his country?

I have always wanted to know why, in 1991, when we had the Iraq army on the run, we stopped and let them rebuild. It has always been my belief if you are in a fight and knock your enemy down — but not out — do not turn your back and walk away and tell him, “Now be a good boy.” Did we not learn anything from Vietnam or Somalia? We need to get out of Iraq and let them settle their own differences. If they want to continue fighting each other, then let them do so. But we need to get out and come home. God bless America!
