Drag queens strut at Pride Week event

Hundreds of Kansas University students crowded Friday outside the Kansas Union for the 11th annual Brown Bag Drag Show.

The show featured six male dancers who danced in drag. The dancing and singing began at noon and ended at 2 p.m. Drag queens Robin Banks and Valerie Dolls played host at the show. Among the performers was “Miss Brianna,” pictured above.

Queers & Allies sponsored the event for its 2004 Pride Week.

Today, the group will take its message to Massachusetts Street for a pride march. Participants will meet at 1 p.m. at South Park and march to Buford M. Watson Jr. Park for a 2 p.m. rally.
