More sensitivity

To the editor:

Regarding your story “U.S. citizens, soldiers killed in Iraq attacks; Iraqis mutilate bodies of contract workers.” I thought that the information in the story was very thorough and well worth the read. Americans need to be aware of all aspects of the war. The only problem I had with the article was the front page picture. I do not feel that it was appropriate to put a picture of the dead American on the front cover.

I know that many copies are sent each day to all area schools. What if one of these young children has a dad in Iraq? Would you like to be one of the parents of these individuals and see their charred bodies posted all over the front cover of your paper. A little more sensitivity is required on your part for all the families waiting for their loved ones to come home. Maybe you should think twice about which is more important: the shock value or decent journalism.
