Overland Park ? The Lawrence High girls swimming squad lost a dual Thursday but qualified three more times for the state tournament. The Lions fell to Shawnee Mission South, 98-90.

The 200 freestyle relay foursome of Becca Ball, Julia Szabo, Kristi Rudman and Chelsea Dirks-Ham turned in a state-qualifying time of 1:51.76, joining the LHS 200 medley and 400 free relays as state qualifiers.

Dirks-Ham also qualified in the 200 individual medley (2:19.28) and 500 freestyle (5:29.95).

At this rate, LHS coach Ryan Adams’ squad will take a big bus to the state tournament.

“We have a couple of girls who we haven’t figured out their place yet, but we’re working on it,” Adams said.

LHS travels April 10 to the Olathe Invitational.
