Let it go

To the editor:

Forget Roy, support Self.

As a KU grad who lives in Champaign, Ill. I thought you might like to know Monday’s sports headline in the News-Gazette, the Champaign/Urbana newspaper.

“Selfless Final Four will be fun”

The column by Copley News Service columnist Mike Nadel follows: “Look at the bright side, folks, Self isn’t going to the Final Four, either. Maybe he’s using the same NCAA tournament strategy at Kansas that worked so well for him at Illinois: first season, Elite Eight; second season, Sweet 16; third season, round of 32; leave for dream job … Frankly, I think Self is a fine coach, but I want to let Illini Land enjoy his misery. He also adds that Oklahoma State is in the Final Four, and that is where Self will bolt to after Eddie Sutton retires in 2006.”

I just hope the Lawrence community and paper has let Roy go. I feel sorry for the Illini that still hang onto Coach Self.

There are lots of KU fans all over the country that take a lot of flak for being Jayhawks. Of course, I just pull up my pant leg to show them my Jayhawk tattoo!

And thanks to the J-W for the great pictures of the cheerleaders online. My son is one of them!

Rock Chalk.
