Law enforcement report

Two women told police that a man they knew grabbed them inappropriately and made lewd comments to them early Sunday morning in the downtown area.

The suspect is a man in his late 30s, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a spokesman for the Lawrence Police Department.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 21-year-old man reported his $1,100 Toshiba laptop computer taken between 10 a.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday from his apartment in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street, according to a report.
  • Someone took four saddles worth $3,300 from an unlocked tack room at a barn in the 700 section of U.S. Highway 40 west of Lawrence, according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report. The incident happened between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19.
  • Numerous tools and pieces of equipment were taken between Friday night and Monday morning from a building belonging to Diamond Cabinetry & Wood Products, 641 E. 22nd St. A padlock also was damaged. Total losses were listed at $6,779.
  • An 18-year-old Lawrence man told police someone took a Dell laptop computer valued at $2,882. The incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Thursday at a residence in the 1400 block of Tennessee Street.
